Early Years Pupil Premium
Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) funding is additional funding for early years settings to improve the education we provide, raise the quality of our provision and, as a result, close the gap between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and other children.
All children who meet the eligibility criteria benefit from the funding. The funding is paid directly to us on an hourly rate basis, linked to claimed hours for entitled children.
As an Early Years setting, we have the freedom to choose how we spend the money to maximise the impact on children’s learning and development and thus narrow the gap. We received £2917.32 for the financial year 2025–2026. This year we used the additional funding in the following ways:
- Forest school delivery and transport
• Targeted parent and child workshops through our Community Programme
• Training for staff
• Buying in specialist workshops, for example, Music and poetry sessions
• Expeditions into the local community which support children’s learning and social development
• Paying for lunch and occasional extended day provision for children in need
• Purchasing resources and learning materials to support children’s communication, language, social and emotional development
• Providing targeted interventions and additional adult support for children identified as requiring extra assistance to achieve their developmental goals

Measuring the Impact
We are continually reviewing the impact of interventions and progress for individual children and vulnerable groups. Collating data allows us to measure the impact and plan accordingly. Some of the ways we measure and monitor the impact on outcomes for pupils are:
- Workshop evaluation forms
• Parent coffee mornings
• Achievement Subcommittee and Governor meetings, including observation of classroom practice and progress tracking
• Parent questionnaires
• Formal meetings and consultations• Termly monitoring of data
• Regular assessment and individual target setting
• Reviewing attendance, engagement and participation in enrichment activities
• Evaluating the impact of staff training on children’s learning experiences and outcomes
Impact of EYPP Funding
The funding has enabled eligible children to access a broader range of learning experiences and targeted support. Through enhanced outdoor learning opportunities, specialist interventions, community-based experiences and family engagement activities, children have demonstrated increased confidence, improved social and communication skills, and greater engagement in learning. We remain committed to using EYPP funding strategically to ensure that all children are supported to achieve their full potential and are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
